Hybrid Course Delivery

Same Great Training!

Hybrid instruction allows an instructor to lead traditional classroom training at an onsite facility while simultaneously teaching remote students in a virtual classroom. The remote students attend class via phone and web conferencing. They see lecture slides and perform labs at their desktops, participate in discussions, and ask questions.

Remote students receive the same great training as their co-workers in the traditional classroom, but no travel is required.

The Island Training Advantage

Hybrid instruction is perfect for workgroups that include telecommuters. Hybrid delivery allows your remote employees to be trained with the rest of their group.

How Hybrid Instruction Works

Local students interact normally with onsite instructor. They interact with remote students via speakerphone.

Remote students test their connections to Island's virtual classroom prior to class. At class time, they connect to their training machine in the virtual classroom and join the class via teleconference.

Like a traditional Island Training class, the instructor delivers a series of brief lectures followed by interactive labs. All students ask questions and start discussions. All features of classroom training are available to remote students.

Fee Structure

Standard onsite classroom training fees apply for hybrid delivery. An additional fee of $100 per remote student covers the cost of virtual classroom usage and training materials for the remote student. Please note: Island Training ships course manuals to remote students who register six or more business days before class start date. Students who register less than six days before class start date are responsible for downloading and printing training manuals.
